아담과 하와
Everybody needs a Friend!

# 하늘과 땅이 만들어지던 때, 곧 하나님께서 땅과 하늘을 만드셨을 때의 이야기
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens

하나님께서 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으셨다. 그리고 사람의 코에 생명의 숨을 불어 넣으시니, 사람이 생명체가 되었다. 하나님께서 동쪽 땅 에덴에 동산을 만드시고, 지으신 사람을 그곳에서 지내게 하셨다.
The Lord God f_o_r_med a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the
man he had f_o_r_med.

# 외로운 아담에게
Adam was sad

비록 하나님께서 아담을 위해 멋진 동산을 만들어 주셨지만, 아담은 외로웠다. 그는 같이 지낼 친구가 필요했다. 그러자 하나님께서 여러 종류의 동물과 새를 만들어주셨다. 그리고 아담이 동물들에게 이름을 지어 부를 수 있게 하셨다.
Even though the garden God had made for him was the most beautiful place there could ever be, Adam was lonely. Adam needed some company. So God reached into the ground again and took some more stuff from the earth. This time he made every kind of animal and every kind of bird. He brought them all to Adam to see what he would call them.

그러나 동물들과 함께 있어도 아담은 여전히 외로움을 느꼈다. 하나님께서 아담이 여전히 슬퍼하는 것을 보셨다. 그래서 하나님께서 아담을 깊이 잠들도록 하셨다. 아담이잠든사이, 하나님께서아담의갈비뼈하나를꺼내시고, 그자리를 살로 메우셨다.
But even with all the animals around to keep him company, God saw that Adam was still sad. So God made Adam fall asleep (he must have conked him on the head or something), and while Adam was sleeping, God took one of his ribs.

그리고 아담에게서 꺼낸 갈비뼈로 여자를 만드시고, 그녀를 아담에게 데리고 가셨다. 아담이 깨어나 그녀를 보고 말했다. “내 뼈 중의 뼈요, 내 살 중의 살이구나. 남자에게서 나왔으므로 여자라고 부를 것이다.”
God took Adam's rib and he made a woman from it. When Adam woke up, God brought Eve to him (that's what Adam named her later on), and Adam said, "At last! Here is someone like me! Her bones were made from my bones, and her body was made from my body. I will call her 'woman' because that means she was taken out of man."

# 마침내 아담은 행복했다
At last Adam was happy

아담과 하와는 에덴 동산에 살며 행복했다. 그들은 벌거벗었지만 부끄러워하지 않았다.
And so Adam and Eve lived together in God's garden. And do you know what? They were naked and nobody cared... or thought it was funny!
