창세기 15:1-7

별과 같이
하나님께서 아브람과 세운 언약

이 일들이 있은 후에 여호와께서 환상 가운데 아브람에게 말씀하셨습니다. “아브람아, 두려워하지 마라. 나는 네 방패이다. 내가 너에게 큰 상을 줄 것이다.”

그러자 아브람이 말했습니다. “주 여호와여, 저에게 무엇을 주시렵니까? 저에게는 아들이 없습니다. 그러니 다마스커스 사람인 제 종 엘리에셀이 제 모든 재산을 물려받을 것입니다.”
아브람이 또 말했습니다. “주께서 저에게 아들을 주지 않으셨으니, 제 집에서 태어난 종이 저의 모든 것을 물려받을 것입니다.”

여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨습니다. “그 아이는 네 재산을 물려받을 사람이 아니다. 네 몸에서 태어나는 자가 네 재산을 물려받게 될 것이다.”

하나님께서 아브람을 밖으로 데리고 나가셔서 말씀하셨습니다. “하늘을 바라보아라. 셀 수 있으면 저 별들을 세어 보아라. 네 자손들도 저 별들처럼 많아지게 될 것이다.”

아브람은 여호와의 말씀을 믿었습니다. 그런즉 여호와께서는 이런 아브람의 믿음을 보시고 아브람을 의롭게 여기셨습니다.

Genesis 15:1-7

The word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision:
“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

But Abram said, “Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”

Then the word of the LORD came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

He also said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
